WHAT ARE CREWS?
Crews are weekly sermon-based discussion groups designed to disciple you and foster deep, authentic relationships. At each gathering, we delve into the Sunday sermon, share our lives, and pray together. Whether you're just starting your faith journey or you're a seasoned believer, Crews provide the ideal small environment to grow spiritually and build meaningful connections. Don't miss out, join a Crew and be part of something life-changing!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What type of Crews will there be?
All kinds! Married Couples, Men’s, Women’s, Young Adults, Students, Special Interests and more! But in order to have these Crews we need dedicated leaders with a heart for loving and discipling others.
What if I want to lead a Crew, but I can’t host it in my home?
If you’ve prayerfully considered opening your home and you’re unable, our ask is that you get creative. Because we want to be a presence in our neighborhoods, consider your local community spaces. Meet at a library, a coffee shop, a restaurant, etc. However, if none of these are options we will have a room at the church for Crew use that will be available on a first come first served basis.
Do I need to be a member of Emmanuel Church to lead a Crew?
Nope! Membership is not required. All we ask is that you have a willing heart, a love for Jesus, and the desire to disciple others.
What if I want to open my home, but I don’t want to lead?
Let us know! If you have a gift for hospitality, we’d love to pair you with someone who wants to lead but can’t open their home. Teamwork!
Can my existing small group become a Crew?
Absolutely! Lots of groups are transitioning to the Crew model and we’re so excited to be united as one church, all studying the Word of God together.
Do we have to use the Sermon materials each week?
Yes. We will weekly provide each leader with a list of curated life-application style questions specially crafted to flow with that week's sermon. This allows us to unite as one church, spread though the 219 corridor, while also paving the way for a life-on-life community rooted in discipleship. Together, we’ll make our big church feel small.
How will we get the Crew materials each week?
Crew materials will be available for leaders online each week, or you can pick up a paper copy at the church.
My schedule is so busy. How can I make this commitment work?
Life happens and this weekly rhythm may not be suited for everyone and that’s ok! If you’re leading, consider holding your Crew every 2 weeks or appoint 1 or 2 people in your Crew as co-leads to share responsibilities. If you’re interested in joining a Crew but are worried about the commitment, please know that our leaders will be full of grace and understanding, and will be rooting for you. Perfect attendance is definitely not a requirement to join a Crew.
Can I come to the Crew Leader Training even if I decide not to lead?
Absolutely! If you’re on the fence about leading but want to check out the training for info, you are absolutely welcome. Send Amanda or Kelly an email to get registered or stop by Guest Central.
How do I get connected to a Crew?
If you have a Crew in mind that you’d like to be a part of you can note it on your interest form and pending availability we’ll happily get you placed there. If you’re unsure of which Crew to join we’ll find a great fit for you taking into consideration such factors as neighborhood, group type, age, personality, etc. We want you to thrive in your Crew and will be making every effort to place you accordingly.
Will there be childcare?
While the church will not be supplying childcare, it is our hope to have several child-friendly Crews that let little ones play while adults gather. This is about doing life together and that includes children.
